The CRRU CodeThe overall purpose of the code, which will be widely promoted through agricultural merchants, farming and countryside groups, is to ensure that effective rodent control can be carried out by all users, while ensuring that the exposure of all non-target animals, including wildlife, is kept to an absolute minimum.
The CRRU code stresses the need to adhere to the following good practice. It has adopted the logo ‘Think Wildlife’ to build recognition of the code and the overall campaign aims.
CRRU/BASIS and CRRU/IASIS Wildlife Aware Accredited Technicians undertake a specially-designed training course so that they provide efficient rodent control while minimising unwanted impacts on non-target species and the environment.
One-Day Course for Pest Control Technicians. CRRU and BASIS in the UK and CRRU and IASIS in Ireland have established the new “Wildlife Aware” training course, and associated accreditation scheme, for professional pest control technicians and other competent users of rodenticides.
